On 17 February 2026 the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO) hosted an open discussion between ECSO members and the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in light of the Presidency’s important role in driving cybersecurity policy initiatives.
During their presentation, Yiannos Demetriou, Chair of the Council’s Horizontal Working Party on Cyber Issues, and Lenas Kakkouras, Chair of the Antici Group on Simplification, shared insights on the Presidency’s legislative priorities linked to cybersecurity, certification, and regulatory simplification.
ECSO members had the opportunity to ask questions and share concerns about EU-level initiatives and policies, including the Cybersecurity Act, the EU Cyber Blueprint, and the Digital Omnibus, including the operationalisation of the Single-Entry Point for incident reporting.
