On Thursday 30 January The Alfred Tennyson pub in Belgravia was abuzz with excitement and nostalgia as it hosted a special Old Stoic 20-year anniversary drinks event. The occasion brought together Old Stoics who left Stowe in 2004, reuniting after two decades apart.
As the former classmates arrived, the Old Stoics, many of whom had not seen each other since their school days, eagerly exchanged stories and caught up on each other's lives. The air was filled with the sounds of hearty laughter and animated conversations, as old bonds were rekindled and new memories were made.
One of the highlights of the night was a heartfelt speech by OS Henry Kimbell (Chandos 04) who expressed gratitude for the enduring friendships and the opportunity to reconnect after so many years. The speech was met with enthusiastic applause and laughs – thank you Henry!
As the evening ended, contact numbers were swapped and promises made to stay in touch, vowing not to let another 20 years pass before their next reunion. The 20-year anniversary drinks event at The Alfred Tennyson was a resounding success, leaving everyone with cherished memories and a renewed appreciation for the enduring power of being part of the Old Stoic Society.
